About Angelo Ruiz: IT Consulting & Automation

I am Angelo Ruiz, a Senior IT Consultant and System Administrator based in the Staten Island, New York area. Over more than 20 years in technology, I have worked across infrastructure, networking, software development and technical drafting. That combination shapes how I approach a project: understand the people doing the work, identify the operational constraint, and choose technology that the business can maintain after the initial rollout.

My systems background includes Windows and Linux environments, Active Directory, network administration and SonicWall firewalls. A stable environment depends on more than installing equipment. Access needs to match responsibilities, changes need a recovery path, and support teams need clear documentation. I look at these everyday details alongside the larger architecture so that a solution remains useful during a busy workday, when a key person is unavailable or when the organization starts to grow.

Connecting infrastructure, cloud and automation

Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 are part of that work, including the relationship between cloud services, user accounts and the systems employees already depend on. I approach cloud projects by looking at identity, permissions, licensing and the practical steps involved in moving information. A migration should make responsibilities clearer and reduce avoidable disruption, rather than simply move the same problems to a different platform.

I use Python, Bash and PowerShell to automate repeatable work. That can mean preparing reports, organizing data, checking system conditions or connecting steps that previously required someone to copy information by hand. Before writing a script, I want to understand the inputs, the expected result and what should happen when something fails. Readable scripts, useful logs and a straightforward handoff matter as much as the time an automation saves.

Software built around real operations

My software work spans LAMP and MERN applications, PHP and React interfaces, and MySQL and MongoDB data stores. ERP development has a particular place in my work because service and construction teams often need several departments to share the same operational picture. Scheduling, service history, inspections and accounting each have their own requirements, but the handoffs between them are where a great deal of unnecessary work can accumulate.

Through Aileron Systems, I connect those software and infrastructure skills to implementation discussions. I prefer to start with a specific process, understand who owns each step, and establish a useful first release. That leaves room for feedback from the people in the field and the office before expanding the system. The projects on this site show the areas I am building in, including workflow automation, industry education and connected business operations.

Technical drafting and a practical working style

AutoCAD drafting for fire alarm drawings adds another perspective to my technical work. Drawing organization, revision control and coordination with project teams are essential when information must move clearly between design and field work. I treat drafting support as part of that coordinated process, with project-specific requirements and review responsibilities established at the outset.

This site is where I share my projects, explain the services I offer and publish technical writing through my WordPress blog. If you need help with an infrastructure issue, a cloud project or a workflow that has outgrown spreadsheets, I welcome a conversation about the current process and what a practical improvement would look like. You can reach me through the contact page or connect with me on LinkedIn.
